The Opportunity:

As a Bartender at Fairmont Royal York, you'll be at the forefront of our guests' dining experience, crafting perfect drinks and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Your expertise in mixology, combined with your personable and efficient service, will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' enjoyment and satisfaction. Your ability to provide knowledgeable recommendations and handle guest interactions with finesse will ensure each visit is memorable and delightful. Must have extensive understanding alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and the serving methods for each beverage.

To report to duty punctually in order to maintain the integrity of co-workers and guestsTo consistently offer personal, friendly and efficient serviceTo have full knowledge of the menu, beverage lists (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and all other special promotions taking place in the outletTo take corrective actions when serving dissatisfied guests, ensuring the guest leaves happyTo prepare all beverages according to guest requests as well as all co-workers needsTo maintain teamwork and good work ethics with all guests (internal and external), by assisting co-workers with any duties, but without compromising the experience of any guests’ dining experienceTo record and fill all daily requisitions efficiently to maintain sufficient stock for each shift/day and to complete month end inventoryTo have read and understood all hotel policies and procedures, rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbookTo understand the concept, hours of operation of the restaurant/bar To be aware of safety and sanitation when handling beverages and the equipment used in preparation of the beveragesAttend pre-shift briefings, weekly and monthly meetings to ensure open lines of communication between all employeesTo fully understand the hotel’s recycling program and proceduresTo immediately report any accident that happens to a guest, a co-worker or yourself to your managerTo express your concerns, suggestions or comments on how to improve the guests experience or to improve the operation as a wholeTo have a full understanding of all the equipment used in the outlet, including P.O. S. system. To be able to confidently use the Silverware system including closing, opening and modifying guest checksAssist guests with selections and suggest wines that accompany mealsTo have an understanding of all other outlets, services and offices in the hotel and their locationsBalancing all daily transactions and remitting according to the policies and proceduresAdhere to alcohol handling policy procedures What you need to succeed:

Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage settingExcellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitudeExcellent cocktail and mixology knowledge requiredIntermediate bartending etiquette and technical skillsSmart Serve training program certification requiredMust be age of majority to serve alcoholic beveragesCash handling abilitiesPrevious bartending experience in a Luxury hotel and/or barBartending and/or Mixology certificate an assetPhysical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:

Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsConstant kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingFrequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps What’s in it for you?
