We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles The Palm as we are currently looking for a Tailor, reporting to the Linen/Laundry Supervisor.
The Tailor is responsible for providing high-quality tailoring and alteration services to support the hotel’s operational and guest service needs. The role includes carrying out alterations and repairs to uniforms, staff clothing, linen, and other textile items, ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The Tailor is also responsible for maintaining sewing equipment, managing materials and supplies, and ensuring all items are handled with care and attention to detail.
At Raffles, the Tailor is more than a skilled garment professional. This role contributes to the seamless presentation and exceptional standards of the hotel by ensuring that uniforms, garments, and textile items are always maintained in excellent condition. The Tailor is meticulous, organized, and proactive, demonstrating strong sewing and alteration skills while maintaining the quality, elegance, and sophistication that define the Raffles experience
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Repairing of all flat work i.e. bed linen, bathrobes, towels and bath mats used in roomsRepairing of all table linen, kitchen linen, curtain headings and hemsRepairing, altering and sewing on buttons off all uniforms used in the hotelMinor repair work and alteration of guest items upon requestAssists the uniform staff with checking, sorting and distributing uniformsMaintains and keeps all machines and work area clean and in good repairAdhere to OH&S policies and proceduresPerforms related duties and special projects as assignedChecking machines at regular intervals
Secondary educationMinimum 3 years experience in a similar capacity in the hospitality industryPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Average reading, writing and oral proficiency in EnglishMust be well presented and professionally groomedStrong interpersonal skills and attention to detailAND ABOVE ALL
