About this role
Approximately 15 - 18 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with occasional weekend availability required.
We are looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to support the day-to-day upkeep of our boutique hotel. This is a hands-on role involving a variety of general maintenance duties across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out preventative maintenance across guest rooms and public areasPerforming general repairs and maintenance as requiredUsing and maintaining general tools and equipment confidently and safelyCompleting basic plumbing tasks, including unblocking drains and attending to minor leaksPerforming basic painting, patching and general repair workResponding to reactive maintenance requests as they ariseAssisting with contractor coordination and site access, where requiredEnsuring all maintenance work is completed to hotel and brand standardsAccurately recording completed maintenance tasks and reporting any outstanding issuesWorking safely and maintaining a clean and organised work environmentHolding a White Card and being prepared to undertake relevant maintenance dutiesThis is a hands-on role where pride in workmanship, reliability, attention to detail and a calm, guest-focused approach are highly valued.
Desirable qualifications:
Formal trade qualification or relevant vocational trainingExperience working within hospitality or heritage building environmentsFamiliarity with hotel maintenance management systems such as hub osAbove all, we value capability, consistency, and a positive can-do attitude.
