About this role

Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, the Night Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the hotel during the night shift. You'll supervise our Night Auditor, act as the senior leader on duty overnight, and work within a friendly, supportive and collaborative Front Office team that is passionate about guest service.

This is a full-time position working overnight shifts, generally from 11:00pm to 7:00am, including weekends and public holidays as required.

Salary: $79,521 per annum, in line with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the nightly operations of the hotel, ensuring all departments function effectivelyManage guest relations and resolve any questions, concerns or issues that arise during the night shiftDeliver exceptional service through efficient check-ins, check-outs and guest interactionsSupervise and support the Night Auditor, ensuring all nightly processes are completed accuratelyConduct and review night audit procedures, ensuring financial transactions and reports are correctLead and develop the overnight team, fostering a positive and professional working environmentConduct regular property inspections to maintain the safety and security of guests, team members and hotel assetsWork closely with other departments to ensure guest needs are met, including coordinating in-room dining requests where requiredRespond effectively to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fire alarms and security concernsEnsure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and brand standardsPrepare detailed handover reports and communicate operational matters to the Rooms Division Manager and day teams Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive hospitality professional who enjoys taking ownership, leading by example and creating memorable guest experiences.

You will possess:

Previous experience in a hotel Front Office environmentExperience as a Night Manager, Assistant Manager or a highly capable Night Auditor ready to take the next step in their careerStrong leadership and team supervision skillsA genuine passion for guest service and creating positive guest experiencesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues alikeStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to challengesKnowledge of hotel management systems such as Opera and basic accounting skills related to night audit functionsThe ability to work independently and remain calm under pressureFlexibility to work overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays (generally 11:00pm to 7:00am)Current First Aid and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, or willingness to obtainFull working rights in Australia, including the ability to work full-time hoursThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Front Office professional to join a supportive management team and take ownership of a critical operational role.
