Reporting to the Hotel Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Spa, Retail, Fitness, and Club 1927 Membership, maintaining a strong daily presence in all wellness areas, engaging with guests and colleagues to ensure service excellence and addressing any immediate operational needsDevelop, communicate and implement the strategic vision for the Spa and all wellness initiatives, ensuring alignment with global Fairmont standards and the hotel’s unique brand identityLead innovation in wellness concepts, experiential offerings, and guest-centric programming to position the property as a premier wellness destination within the luxury marketServe as the hotel’s subject-matter expert on wellness trends, collaborating with all departments to embed wellness experiences throughout the guest journeyUtilize data-driven insights—including competitive analysis, guest feedback, and market trends—to exceed revenue goals and proactively adapt to business conditionsDevelop long-term plans for business growth, capital investment, and operational enhancements.Lead by example by being actively involved in daily operations to support peak periods, coaching in real-time, and ensuring every guest touchpoint aligns with service excellence.Drive departmental financial performance, including revenue generation, cost control, payroll, and profitability metrics, ensuring financial goals are consistently exceededInspire, lead, and develop a passionate team committed to delivering personalized and transformative guest experiences through a hands-on leadership approachPartner with Sales & Marketing to design and implement promotions, events, and seasonal activations aligned with wellness objectives and revenue targetsFoster a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing guest feedback, colleague engagement insights, and performance evaluationsMaintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues, with a strong focus on health and safety protocolsFollow department policies, procedures and service standardsOther duties as assignedSalary Range: $106,000.00 - $140,000.00

Previous experience as a director full-service luxury spa, preferably within a hotel or resort settingExtensive knowledge of spa operations, wellness treatments, retail, and current industry trendsDegree or diploma in hospitality, business, or wellness-related field an assetDemonstrated ability to drive financial performance, enhance guest satisfaction, and foster employee engagementFamiliarity with systems such as Book4Time, Opera, BirchStreet, and Microsoft Office an assetResults-driven and adaptable, with the ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesLeads by example and cultivates a strong team culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and high performanceFlexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on business needs Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, an elegant Spanish mission-style Inn, boasts exceptional accommodation in the heart of Wine Country.
