Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the correct candidate to join our Theatre scrub team.

The post is suitable for either an ODP or Nurse with experience in surgical scrub role. This post is suitable for students who are due to qualify this year who will hold an anaesthetic or Nurse qualification.

Our new theatre suite designed for Day Case & Inpatients, boasts state of the art equipment and staffing levels that provide an exemplary environment where best practice can be achieved.

Main duties of the job

Accountable within the theatre team to ensure that the standard of patient care is of a high level, quality being of prime importance. To adhere to and practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council's standards. Ensure adherence to agreed Trust policies.

The position is primarily a theatre scrub practitioner although some rotation and flexibility will be required to meet service needs. The post-holder will be called upon, occasionally to take charge of the unit/area. The post holder will be expected to participate in internal rotation, weekend, unsocial hours and on call duties.

The post holder will act be part of a clinical team provided to ensure that clinical care of patients and others using the service receive an efficient and quality service. The post offers the opportunity to further develop clinical and non-clinical skills within the team. They will also be encouraged to take other lead roles within the team .
