Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join our band 5 rotations to provide a service to a variety of inpatient and outpatient areas including respiratory, diabetes, surgical, care of the elderly, paediatrics and oncology.If you enjoy working as part of a team and using your initiative this is the job for you. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop clinical and professional skills within a dynamic and supportive team. The post is suitable for newly qualified dietitians or band 5 dietitians looking for further experience.
Please note that although this is a 9 month post, there is a possibility of a permanent band 5 role coming up during the duration of the post which the applicant could apply for.

Main duties of the job
The role will primarily involve inpatient work with patients across a variety of specialities; receiving oral and enteral feeding. There will also be the opportunity for outpatient work in general dietetic clinics andto be involved in teaching and training of nurses and medical staff as well as patient education sessions.
The post holder will work closely with our senior dietitians who will help train and support you along with providing opportunities to experience other areas of dietetics.
Developing resources and carrying out quality improvement projects will be encouraged to maintain our high profile within the hospital.
We provide student training for a number of universities and the post holder will be involved with this.

You will be invited to regular professional update meetings across the whole team. In addition we are closely connected with our colleagues across Dorset and run a Dorset wide education and networking event twice yearly.

Qualifications Essential
BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics Or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. Registered Dietitian (UK) with HCPC or awaiting HCPC registration
Desirable
Clinical supervisory skills training
Experience Essential
Evidence of Continued Professional Development. Experience of Group Presentations. Ability to work autonomously Recent clinical experience as a Dietitian or Dietitian student within the NHS setting

MDT involvement. Previous clinical experience at band 5 level Experience of training dietetic students Experience of collaborative working across/between professions to achieve agreed outcomes.
Technical Essential
