Job summary

Are you an established Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) with expertise in Children and Young People's Mental Health? CYPMH Dorset is entering an exciting period of growth and development, supported by new investment and a strong commitment to transforming how children and young people access mental health support.

As the Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will prescribe and review medication as anindependent non-medical prescriber(profession dependent) in our Getting More Help team, working within a THRIVE-informed, needs-led model of care. You will be an experienced registered health professional with a strong CAMHS background and demonstrable capability inadvanced clinical practice, leadership and system working.

As part of a multi-professional CAMHS team, you will deliverhighly specialist, evidence-based and person-centred care, managing complex clinical presentations and providing expert leadership within a developing pan-Dorset system. You will be confident managing risk and complexity, influencing change and working autonomously within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency context.

Main duties of the job

Provideadvanced, autonomous clinical practicefor children and young people with highly complex mental health needs Undertake comprehensive assessments, formulation, diagnosis and care planning, including proactive risk management Manage complete episodes of care, including admission and discharge decisions where appropriate Act as a senior clinical leader within CAMHS, influencing practice, pathways and service development Provide expert consultation, advice and leadership across the system, including partner agencies Lead and contribute toquality improvement, audit, service evaluation and research Provide clinical supervision, mentorship and support to colleagues, including trainee and aspiring ACPs Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and compassionate, trauma-informed care throughout practice

Person Specification

Education & Training Essential

Registered health practitioner with membership of relevant professional body MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent route to Advanced Clinical Practice with evidence of meeting the nationally agreed capabilities Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessor's training/recognition of teaching abilities. Registered non-medical prescriber (where professionally appropriate) Relevant role specific qualifications or training (i.e leadership courses, specific clinical skills, psychological therapies etc)

Knowledge & Experience Essential

Clear and demonstrable evidence of advanced, autonomous practice in the management of patients / service users Evidence of Continuing Professional Development through an advanced clinical practice portfolio demonstrating advanced level practice across the four pillars of clinical practice, education, leadership and research Knowledge and understanding of the Trust's strategies relevant to role Demonstrable knowledge of legislation, guidelines and best practice in relevant to area of clinical practice and application of these to practice Demonstrable experience of working in a provider organisation and within a relevant specialty as Registered Practitioner Band 7 level. Experience of effective use of electronic patient / service user record systems Experience of planning and organising complex activities requiring the formulation and adjustment of plans .e.g. organising own time, co-ordination with other agencies and plans for sudden, unforeseen circumstances. Evidence of designing, delivering and evaluating education and training in practice Evidence of involvement in policy and leading practice change Evidence of research involvement

Skills Essential

Evidence of effective leadership and risk management skills Able to demonstrate advanced skills for assessing and interpreting complex client conditions, comparing a range of options and taking appropriate action Able to undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis and support aspiring and trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners through supervisory roles Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation, and where there may be barriers, with staff, patient/service users, visitors or external organisations both verbally and in writing in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information which may require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills. Able to work independently and autonomously as role demands Ability to evaluate care leading to improvement in quality standards and service improvement Experience of planning and organising complex activities requiring the formulation and adjustment of plans .e.g. organising own time, co-ordination with other agencies and plans for sudden, unforeseen circumstances.
