Main duties of the job

The role centres on delivering specialist assessment, planning and management of patients with complex wounds and compromised skin integrity, while supporting and upskilling the wider workforce. You will work autonomously and collaboratively to provide expert advice, lead clinical decision-making, and contribute to service development through audit, education, and implementation of evidence-based practice. We are looking for a clinician with strong clinical judgement, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams. You should be confident in managing competing priorities, committed to continuous professional development, and able to translate research into practice. Leadership, teaching ability, and a proactive approach to improving patient care and staff competence are essential, alongside a genuine commitment to quality, safety, and equitable care for all patients.

Qualification Essential

Registered General Nurse- current registration - eligible to practice

Desirable

Experience of working as Link Nurse Tissue Viability or Tissue Viability

Knowledge and experience Essential

Significant post registration experience within senior nursing roles in the acute setting. Advanced clinical skill set and experience in Tissue Viability Nursing at Band 6 or above. Knowledge of current issues relating to the speciality of tissue viability and Nursing strategy

Desirable

experience of wound care and working with leg ulcer patients relevant experience of Pressure ulcer prevention and continence management

Skills, abilities, and attributes Essential

Excellent interpersonal skills. Report writing and presentation skills. Ability to devise, implement and evaluate training programmes.

Desirable

Assertiveness, influencing and persuasive skills.
