Main duties of the job As a Healthcare Assistant at St Marys in Warrington, you'll be part of a caring and supportive team dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with mental health conditions. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.
The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

St Mary’s Hospital provides care and support for men aged 18 years and over who require a period of specialised Level 2 mental health rehabilitation inpatient services (higher support needs) in a safe and caring environment. The hospital also offers a range of specialised services for people with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including Level 2 ABI rehabilitation, Low Secure ABI and Medium Secure ABI services, delivered within a structured rehabilitation setting. There is also an acute service which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of individuals in crisis or suffering from significant mental health problems.
