About this role

Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Child Health team as a Ward Clerk.

As a Ward Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of the Children's Wards by carrying out a range of clerical and reception-based duties. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary clinical team, providing essential administrative support and acting as a first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, responding to enquiries with sensitivity and professionalism.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role within a busy hospital environment, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the experience of children and their families during their hospital stay.

In addition to supporting the Children's Wards, you will also provide clerical support across the wider Child Health Department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic team, alongside access to ongoing professional development and the full range of benefits and staff incentives available as part of the NHS.

Main duties of the job

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training Essential

oEducated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience. oComputer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ 2 or equivalent

Desirable

oPrevious Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment oExperience (1 year minimum) Office/Administrative role oExperience of dealing with confidential information
