Front Office Manager

Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel | Bloomington, Minnesota Salary: $64,000–$67,000 annually, based on experience

Discover Your Next Opportunity

Join the Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel and lead a Front Office team focused on creating memorable, personalized guest experiences.

We are seeking an engaging, hands-on Front Office Manager who enjoys developing people, improving the guest experience, and taking ownership of hotel operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a hospitality leader who can balance exceptional service with strong operational execution and who isn't afraid to step in, solve problems, coach associates, and lead from the front.

The Front Office Manager plays a key leadership role within the hotel and is responsible for the overall success of the Front Desk operation, including guest satisfaction, associate development, service recovery, operational standards, room inventory, and daily execution.

This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

About the Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel

The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is an upscale Marriott property conveniently located near the Mall of America, Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport, and major Twin Cities attractions.

The hotel features 253 guest rooms, LARS Restaurant & Bar, an indoor Junior Olympic-sized pool, fitness center, and more than 4,300 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

Our design and atmosphere reflect a distinctly Minnesota sense of place, combining warm, modern décor with locally inspired elements. Our team is focused on creating genuine connections and memorable experiences through personalized service and thoughtful hospitality.

Why Renaissance?

At Renaissance, hospitality is about more than a smooth check-in. It's about creating experiences rooted in discovery, authenticity, and connection.

As Front Office Manager, you'll have the opportunity to influence the guest experience from arrival through departure while developing a team that takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Your ideas matter. Your leadership matters. And your impact is visible every day.

SPIRE Hospitality, our management company, operates hotels and resorts across the country with a focus on memorable guest experiences and best-in-class service. We provide our leaders with the support, tools, and opportunities they need to grow and succeed in hospitality.

What You'll Do

As Front Office Manager, you will take ownership of the daily Front Office operation while creating an environment where associates feel supported, accountable, and empowered to take care of our guests.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the daily operation of the Front Desk, ensuring consistent execution of service standards and hotel procedures.

• Recruit, train, coach, develop, and motivate Front Office associates while creating a positive and accountable team culture.

• Be highly visible in the operation and lead from the front, particularly during peak arrival and departure periods.

• Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction results, identify trends, and implement action plans that improve the overall guest experience.

• Empower associates to resolve guest concerns while personally assisting with complex service recovery situations when necessary.

• Recognize opportunities to create memorable and personalized experiences for guests and Marriott Bonvoy members.

• Champion Marriott Bonvoy recognition, enrollment, and elite-member benefits while ensuring brand standards are consistently delivered.

• Maintain accurate room inventory and room-type availability to maximize selling opportunities while protecting the guest experience.

• Partner closely with Housekeeping to ensure room readiness, room status accuracy, and effective communication regarding guest needs and priorities.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and other hotel departments to resolve operational challenges and deliver a seamless guest experience.

• Manage Front Office scheduling and staffing based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, group activity, and business demand.

• Monitor labor and departmental expenses while maintaining appropriate service levels.

• Conduct regular coaching, performance conversations, and recognition with Front Office associates.

• Ensure cash handling, billing, credit, key control, safety, and security procedures are consistently followed.

• Maintain an organized, professional, and guest-ready Front Desk and lobby environment.

• Review daily operational information including arrivals, departures, VIPs, groups, special requests, room inventory, and potential service challenges.

• Serve as a Manager on Duty when scheduled and assist with hotel-wide operational needs.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, associate engagement, and guest satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a hospitality leader who enjoys being part of the operation—not managing it solely from an office.

You should be comfortable making decisions, coaching associates in the moment, handling difficult guest situations, and working collaboratively across departments.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel Front Office or Guest Services leadership experience required.

• 2–3+ years of progressive hotel operations experience preferred, including supervisory or management responsibilities.

• Strong understanding of Front Desk operations, reservations, room inventory, billing, and service recovery.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable.

• Strong guest-service instincts with the confidence to resolve challenging situations professionally.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyze guest feedback and operational results and turn them into actionable improvements.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and balancing multiple priorities.

• Experience with hotel property-management and reservation systems.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

• Professional, positive, and approachable leadership style.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a full-service Marriott, Renaissance, or comparable upscale hotel.

• Experience with Marriott systems, including FSPMS.

• Familiarity with Marriott Bonvoy standards, elite-member recognition, and guest satisfaction programs.

• Experience managing Front Office scheduling, labor, and departmental expenses.

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive full-time benefits package designed to support you both on and off the job, including:

• Early Pay / Earned Wage Access

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance

• Flexible spending accounts

• 401(k) with company match after one year

• Life insurance

• Critical illness and accident insurance

• Short- and long-term disability

• Paid time off and wellness programs

• Pet discount program

• Identity theft protection

• Pre-paid legal services

• Excellent hotel and travel discounts

• Additional associate benefits and programs

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Work throughout Front Office and guest-facing areas of the hotel.

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds.

• Perform job responsibilities in full view of guests while maintaining a professional presence.
