About this role
• Investigate, validate, evaluate, negotiate and settle all claims as assigned.
• Submit reserve recommendations on assigned claims.
• Communicate with the public regarding procedures, problems, and coverages.
• Negotiate fair settlement with individual claimants or Attorneys.
• Maintain claim files and follow departmental reporting procedures.
• Report risk reviews to the Underwriting department.
• Participate in training and continuing education courses as requested or required.
• Prepare estimates on property losses
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Agriculture Business or related field
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including typing and working in window based software programs
• Ability to work well with others and become part of a team
• Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressure
• Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills
• Related claims handling experience
