Job title: Assistant Fabricator - ADAPT Shop

The part-time Assistant Fabricator (20 hours per week) plays a key role in supporting ADAPT Shop operations by helping create pediatric therapy equipment and assistive technology products that improve the lives of children and families. Under the guidance of the Fabricator, this part-time position prepares materials, operates fabrication equipment, assembles products, conducts quality checks, and contributes to a safe, clean, and well-organized workshop.

What you'll do:

• Assist the Fabricator in the manufacturing of standardized pediatric therapy equipment and assistive technology products.

• Set up and operates hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to process wood, plastic, foam, and other materials.

• Assemble components into finished products according to established specifications and procedures.

• Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet established standards for safety, appearance, and functionality.

• Assist in maintaining tools, equipment, and machinery in safe working condition.

• Help manage inventory of materials, supplies, and shop consumables.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

• Follow established shop safety procedures and uses appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency, and product quality.

• Prepare for and participates in regular, reflective supervision with direct supervisor and proactively seeks guidance and support.

• Adhere to the Southwest Human Development Mission, Vision, Core Values and policies.

• Provide services that are family-centered and relationship-based.

• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience using basic hand tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measures, squares, levels) required.

• Possess an insured & registered vehicle and a valid AZ driver's license.

• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

• DES Criminal Affadavit Required

• AZ DHS Criminal History Affidavit Required

What sets you apart:

• Minimum six (6) months of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, warehouse operations, or a related hands-on environment preferred.

• Ability to read and follow work instructions and diagrams is preferred.
