Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Public Safety Director or Public Safety Sergeant, provides professional protection to patients, employees, visitors and hospital assets. Recognizes and responds to the needs of all customers internal and external.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Patrols the entire campus providing a level of high visibility to ensure patients, employees and visitors safety.
• Reports all incidents and accidents in compliance with hospital policy.
• Conducts preliminary investigations for issues such as theft, malicious acts, employee and visitor injuries and prepares incident reports with complete and accurate information.
• Maintains protection and safety of patients, visitors, staff, and equipment.
• Monitors infant abduction system (HUGS) and responds appropriately to alarms.
• Provides vehicle escort services when requested.
• Assists in the managing of difficult and/or abusive patients or visitors when requested. To de-escalate and control high risk behavior.
• Report any issues/problems in a timely fashion in order for resolution and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintains good working relationship with all staff members.
• Provides directions and information to visitors, patients, and staff.
• Performs all other duties as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
• 1 -3 years of previous experience preferred
• Hospital experience preferred
Licensure and Certification
• 20 Hour certification
• Driver's License
• PERC Card with-in 3 months of hire
• CPR/AED certification preferred but not required
Where a professional license or certification is required, the candidate must maintain the applicable license or certification throughout employment and comply with applicable renewal and reporting requirements.
Humboldt Park Health may verify applicable professional licenses, certifications, education, employment history, and other credentials as permitted or required by applicable law and organizational policy.
Schedule
This position follows a full-time schedule. Flexibility may be required based on patient care and operational needs.
Shift Differentials
Shift differentials may apply based on the current Humboldt Park Health policy at the time the hours are worked.
Compensation
Pay Range: $19.19 - 20.50 per hour
The pay range represents the budgeted compensation range for this position. Final offers may vary based on job-related factors, including qualifications, education, experience, skill set, internal equity, applicable policies, and other factors permitted by law.
