Salary: £57,000 - 97,000 per year

Requirements: Strong experience working with AWS in a hybrid infrastructure environment.Experience supporting, building and maintaining Windows Server environments, VMware platforms and Active Directory-related identity services.Understanding of Entra ID and its role in a hybrid identity environment.Experience supporting infrastructure migration or transformation activity, ideally involving the movement of on-premise services to cloud platforms.Solid understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, monitoring and operational best practice.Understanding of network technologies in a hybrid cloud and on-premise environment.Experience supporting infrastructure security hardening, including applying CIS Benchmarks, NIST guidance or comparable security standards.Collaborative approach, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.Able to participate in the out-of-hours support rota, one week in three, with a paid on-call allowance. Responsibilities: Support, maintain and develop our hybrid infrastructure environment, focusing on AWS and migrating on-premise services to the cloud.Implement best practice across systems and help maintain platform standards.Liaise with IT management and wider technology teams, presenting designs and discussing issues, ideas and improvements.Translate complex technical issues, designs and requirements for colleagues and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.Provision, implement and manage AWS infrastructure components, including virtual machines, storage, networking, managed services and related cloud-native tooling.Support physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, storage and related platform services.Use automation to improve operational efficiency across cloud and on-premise environments.Develop, manage and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling where appropriate.Participate in the out-of-hours support rota to troubleshoot and resolve issues. We are seeking a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to join our collaborative Hybrid Cloud team, which implements, innovates and supports infrastructure services underpinning Guardian News & Media corporate IT operations. Our cloud-first strategy focuses on migrating on-premise infrastructure to AWS while maintaining and improving our hybrid estate. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in our Kings Cross office two days a week, including Thursdays, with three days working remotely. The roles minimum full-time salary is £30,000, with salary ranges dependent on skills and experience.
