Salary: £62,000 - 62,000 per year
Requirements: Strong hands-on network engineering experience across networking, security and cloud environmentsStrong knowledge of Cisco routing and switchingProven experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco FMGStrong experience across the Fortinet ecosystemGood understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs and network segmentationExperience configuring and managing network firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN and NAC technologiesExperience with routing protocols such as BGP and switching technologies including STP and VLANsExperience working with Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs and VPN gatewaysStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including experience acting as an escalation point for network issuesExperience working with internal stakeholders, technical teams and external service providersAbility to work under pressure and support major incidents when requiredParticularly relevant: CCNA or equivalent certification; AZ-700 or Microsoft Azure Networking certification; NAC experience; experience with network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds; network automation and scripting experience; or experience in a CNI, regulated or similarly security-conscious environment Responsibilities: Implement and support network infrastructure across WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and firewallsManage and support Cisco ACI, Cisco FMG and the Fortinet ecosystemWork with Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs and VPN gatewaysReview technical designs and provide guidance to ensure solutions meet security policies and industry standardsManage network security across firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC and network segmentationWork with the Cyber Security team on vulnerability remediation, risk assessments and threat intelligenceAct as an escalation point for complex network incidents and help minimise disruption to IT servicesWork with internal stakeholders and external service providers on network changes, roadmaps and deliveryMonitor network performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance and efficiencyMaintain accurate network configurations, topologies and technical documentationSupport the integration of new networking technologies into the existing infrastructureIdentify opportunities for automation and reduce manual network configuration activities Technologies: AzureCloudCiscoSupportLANNetworkSecurityTCP/IPVPN More:
We are an expanding Technical Operations function at a leading organisation, strengthening our team with an experienced Network Engineer. This hands-on role covers network infrastructure across datacentres, Azure and office and depot environments. You will work closely with our internal technical teams, Cyber Security, project teams and external service partners, helping keep our critical network secure, reliable and performing at its best. The role offers exposure to networking, security, Azure and infrastructure, with opportunities to contribute to operational and project-based challenges and make a meaningful impact on network security, availability and performance.
