About our Organization: Our company operates two distinct business lines under one organization: a membership organization supporting independent distributors in the promotional products industry, and a multi-location retail division running campus-based stores embedded in college and university locations across the U.S. This role will work cross-functionally across both business lines, requiring comfort navigating two different operating models; B2B membership services and multi-location brick-and-mortar retail, within a single HR function.
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and collaborative HR Generalist to support our multi-division operations across the U.S. This position partners closely with the EVP of Operations & Organizational Development to provide day-to-day HR support and administration, ensuring continuity across employee lifecycle processes, compliance tracking, and our HRIS.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative HR professional who can operate independently on day-to-day HR administration, provide policy guidance to managers, and contribute to a positive employee experience across the divisions, while partnering with the EVP of Operations on complex employee relations and multi-state compliance matters.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
HR Administration and Employee support
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, new-hire training compliance tracking, and coordination with IT/Payroll.
• Maintain employee records and ensure accurate documentation in BambooHR.
• Assist with employee communications, policy distribution, and routine HR updates.
• Support managers with coaching and performance improvement conversations, escalating higher-risk matters to the EVP of Operations.
• Assist in documenting employee relations matters accurately and confidentially.
Payroll & Benefits Support
• Coordinate with the payroll provider to ensure accurate employee status updates, deductions, and timekeeping records.
• Support benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, qualifying events, and provider communication.
• Assist employees with benefit questions and escalate complex issues to the EVP of Operations as needed.
Compliance & HR Processes
• Support multi-state and federal compliance efforts; including I-9 processing, required state/federal postings, background checks, and state-specific documentation.
• Assist with policy adherence and provide operational support for employee relations documentation.
• Flag compliance gaps or emerging state requirements to the EVP of Operations for review.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity in BambooHR.
• Generate HR reports as needed.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for efficiency.
Recruiting & Staffing Support
• Partner with hiring managers on open roles.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for non-executive positions as needed, including communication with the hiring manager, writing job descriptions and posting jobs online.
• Coordinate and/or conduct interviews and lead the pre-employment processes.
• Participate in and support workforce planning discussions.

Knowledge and Experience:
• 3–5 years of broad HR experience across multiple functions.
• Strong working knowledge of HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, benefits support, employee documentation, and compliance.
• Experience supporting employee relations matters, with sound judgment on when to escalate.
• Proficient in BambooHR and Microsoft applications a must
• Familiarity with payroll coordination and benefits administration processes.
• Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of relevant HR experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
