We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant / Maintenance Operative to join our team.
You'll be working Full Time 42 Hours a week at Cygnet Kenney House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.
In this important role, you'll help ensure our service remains safe, secure and well maintained, creating the best possible environment for the people in our care, our colleagues and visitors.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a practical and proactive individual who takes pride in their work. From carrying out repairs and routine maintenance to helping maintain a high-quality social care environment, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the service and contributing to positive service user experiences.
Cygnet Kenney House is our hospital for women, located in Oldham. The services provide a safe and secure care pathway for women with mental health need and are now open.
We have collaborated with the NHS to develop services to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home. There are three wards at Cygnet Kenney House; Billington Ward, a 12 bed specialist Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Baldock Ward, a 16 bed Acute service and Harben Ward, a 16 bed mental health rehabilitation and recovery service.
Your Day-to-Day...
Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair serviceCarry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building workMaintain equipment, services & vehiclesComply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazardsTravel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hoursCheck the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.You are...
Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent yearsWilling to travel & hold a full valid driving licenceAble to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance informationSkilled at DIY & general maintenancePreferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industryFriendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.Why Cygnet?
