Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication skills and expertise in applying epidemiological and statistical methods. You will help shape public health priorities and decision-making by providing evidence on population health needs, trends and inequalities.
Main duties of the job
You will lead and contribute to significant epidemiological, research and evaluation workstreams, provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, and work collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for the people of Derbyshire. You will play a key role in embedding research and evidence-based practice across local government. The role will involve working collaboratively with council services to identify research priorities, assess existing evidence, and support the development of new research activities that address local challenges and community needs. This includes securing external funding by supporting research grant applications, building research capability among staff through training and mentorship, and promoting the use of robust research methods throughout the organisation. Qualifications Essential
Degree or equivalent qualification with significant numerical or statistical content.
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in public health, epidemiology, statistics or related subject.
