Community mental health - Older adult service
We are excited to advertise an exciting Occupational Therapy opportunity within South Warwickshire Older adult service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team, bringing your Occupational Therapy skills, ideas and creativity to a service focused on improving the lives of Older adults.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational therapist within the Older adult service you will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive specialist assessments for clients with complex presentations, including behaviours that challenge. Such clients may be in their own home or in community placements and may require a variety of Occupational therapy interventions.
The role will span both functional illnesses and Dementia, therefore a broad mental health knowledge is essential.

Job description Job responsibilities
You will have responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy to individuals, their families and carers through a range of evidence-based interventions. You will undertake specialist assessments and provide interventions designed to maximise recovery, independence and wellbeing, particularly when working with older adults presenting with Dementia and complex functional illness. You will also contribute your specialist OT knowledge to the wider multidisciplinary team and support colleagues through advice, supervision and shared learning.

Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use
Qualifications Essential
Relevant Professional Qualification in OT Current unrestricted registration with HCPC Specialist knowledge across a range of procedures and theory Professional knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma Relevant training and experience specialist short courses Evidence of continuing professional development

Excellent written communication skills
Experience Essential
Substantial experience in a mental health setting. Experience of using recovery focused intervention. Developed specialist clinical knowledge gained within a similar environment over a considerable period of time Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk taking Experience of safeguarding Experience of supervising / overseeing staff and students.
