About this role
Overview We're seeking a Systems Administrator to join a collaborative infrastructure team supporting a mixed Windows, virtualization, and Linux environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of core infrastructure, automating processes, troubleshooting complex issues, and working closely with developers and technical teams.The role will primarily focus on Windows Server administration, VMware management, and Active Directory support, while also providing exposure to Linux systems and an upcoming virtualization migration initiative. Key Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including patching, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting • Serve as the primary administrator for VMware vCenter/vSphere infrastructure • Support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including installations, patching, maintenance, and service health monitoring • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation for routine administrative tasks • Assist with planning and execution of virtualization migration projects • Build, configure, and deploy new servers as needed • Support Linux systems alongside the broader infrastructure team • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures • Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, performance tuning, and issue resolution • Collaborate closely with developers and other technical teams to support business-critical applications Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of Windows Server administration experience in a production environment • Hands-on experience administering VMware vCenter/vSphere • Strong Active Directory administration experience • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server on Windows • PowerShell scripting experience • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications
• Linux administration experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar) • Experience with PowerCLI • Experience with Proxmox, KVM, or hypervisor migrations • Experience building server environments from scratch • Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale environments • Background in higher education, government, or public-sector organizations • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Technical Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
