Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob DescriptionThis hands-on field service role combines technical problem-solving, customer-facing support, and on-site maintenance across multiple facilities in designated metro areas. The position requires frequent travel to customer locations, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and connected lock systems. Responsibilities • Travel regularly to customer locations across designated metro areas to perform on-site service work. • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of locks and related systems in the field. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cellular/Bluetooth devices. • Respond to emergency service calls as directed, including occasional nights, weekends, or holidays. • Provide accurate and timely documentation, including monthly expense reports, daily service call reports, weekly tracking, and route completion reports. • Maintain detailed records of all service visits, including technical issues encountered, parts used, and work performed. • Prioritize workload in coordination with leadership to support an efficient and cost-effective preventive maintenance schedule. • Independently execute lock installation projects from start to completion according to assigned work orders. • Identify and resolve customer issues using effective problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment. • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customer personnel while representing the company on-site. • Provide customer training on products and systems as needed to ensure proper use and basic troubleshooting. • Assist with service needs in other locations as required, based on business demands. • Travel between multiple facilities, including designated plants and generating stations, to complete scheduled and unscheduled service work. Essential Skills • Demonstrated technical aptitude in plumbing systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. • Hands-on experience with cellular and Bluetooth devices, including configuration and support. • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities for field-based service work. • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for documentation and communication. • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage routes, documentation, and service priorities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and internal teams. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining self-motivated and results-driven. • High school diploma or GED required. • 35 years of relevant experience required in field service, maintenance, or a closely related technical role. • Valid drivers license and an acceptable motor vehicle record to support regular travel between customer locations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems maintenance in industrial or commercial environments. • Knowledge of plumbing systems and their integration with mechanical and electronic components. • Experience with lock installation, lock maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs. • Familiarity with configuring and supporting connected devices such as cellular/Bluetooth-enabled hardware. • Comfort working across multiple customer sites and adapting to different facility layouts and procedures. • Ability to maintain detailed service records and follow established reporting processes. Work EnvironmentThis is a field-based position that involves frequent travel between industrial and power-generating facilities within designated metro areas, including multiple plants and generating stations. Work takes place primarily on customer sites, often in operational plant environments that may include mechanical rooms, electrical areas, and outdoor or semi-outdoor settings. The role typically follows a standard schedule but requires flexibility to respond to emergency service calls, which may occasionally occur at night, on weekends, or on holidays. The position involves regular use of hand tools and test equipment for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and lock systems, as well as laptops or mobile devices for documentation and configuration of cellular/Bluetooth equipment. Appropriate work attire and adherence to site-specific safety and personal protective equipment requirements are expected at all times. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
