Job Title: Repair TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Repair Technician performs skilled technical work focused on diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and rebuilding oxygen tanks and systems for aircraft. This role uses specialized diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and trade-specific tools while applying electrical and electronics theory. The technician interprets technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics, and ensures all work complies with industry and government safety, health, and environmental guidelines as well as FAA regulations. Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, replace, and rebuild oxygen tanks and oxygen systems used in aircraft. • Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and a variety of trade-specific tools to perform component repair and assembly work. • Apply principles and practices of electrical and electronics theory to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. • Interpret and follow technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to perform accurate and compliant repairs. • Apply knowledge of equipment design and function to ensure proper operation after repair or overhaul. • Follow industry and government guidelines related to safety, health, and environmental practices in all repair activities. • Assist with research and development of new repair capabilities, including reviewing and understanding new technical manuals. • Participate in on-site and off-site training as needed to support new repair processes and capabilities. • Assist with the maintenance, organization, and upkeep of shop equipment and supplies. • Make accurate computer entries and complete maintenance documentation such as Service Reports and FAA Form 8130-3 in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies. • Support the repair and service of life vests and oxygen tanks in a regulated FAA repair station environment. • Follow established production, quality, and safety procedures to meet turnaround times and maintain high standards of workmanship. Essential Skills • Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and components. • Hands-on experience using hand tools and trade-specific tools for repair, assembly, and production work. • Experience in component repair and troubleshooting within a technical or mechanical environment. • Ability to apply electrical and electronics theory in a practical repair setting. • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing technical documentation and computer entries. • Capability to follow safety, health, and environmental guidelines and work within FAA-regulated processes. • Willingness and ability to train on a different shift for an initial period as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in an FAA repair station or other highly regulated maintenance environment. • Familiarity with aircraft oxygen systems, oxygen tanks, and life vest servicing. • Comfort with learning new repair capabilities and adapting to updated technical manuals and procedures. • Ability to participate in on-site and off-site training programs to enhance technical skills. • Strong organizational skills to assist with maintaining shop equipment and supplies. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an FAA repair station environment focused on the repair and service of life vests and oxygen tanks for aircraft. You will work with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and specialized trade tools in a shop setting that follows strict safety, health, environmental, and FAA regulatory guidelines. Available shifts include a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Training will take place on second shift, so candidates hired for first shift must be able to train on second shift for approximately 30 days before transitioning to their regular schedule. The environment emphasizes adherence to documented procedures, accurate completion of maintenance records, and consistent production and quality standards. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
