The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who is responsible for project planning and contract administration, project execution, safety management, financial/project performance management, client relations, and team leadership including the mentoring of Project Associates.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Contract Administration – Review RFPs, proposals, estimates, schedules, contracts, and related documents to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and contractual obligations; prepare subcontracts and contracts for approval; review, approve, and/or forward project submittals, including drawings, material samples, and other required documentation; prepare, submit, and manage project change orders; and coordinate project schedules, permits, job layouts, and other preconstruction requirements with the project team.
• Project Execution, Scheduling & Resource Management – Establish and maintain construction schedules to achieve project milestones and completion dates; coordinate the scheduling and availability of subcontractors, manpower, tools, equipment, and material deliveries; ensure personnel and equipment are appropriately assigned to projects and held accountable for performance and schedule adherence; procure materials necessary to meet project specifications and coordinate deliveries with vendors; and conduct weekly crew observations to monitor field execution, productivity, and project performance.
• Safety & Quality Management – Develop and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) and Site-Specific Quality Plans (SSQP); communicate project schedules, permits, job layouts, and other relevant project information to the Safety department; and incorporate safety and quality requirements into project planning and execution activities.
• Financial & Project Performance Management – Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project costs to ensure performance remains aligned with project budgets and financial expectations; prepare for and lead monthly WIP and Focus Job Meetings to review project performance, risks, forecasts, and corrective actions; assist Accounting with project billing and collection needs; and \manage the financial and operational impact of project change orders.
• Client, Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management – Provide timely, professional, and respectful service to clients, with the goal of meeting or exceeding client expectations; work collaboratively with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promptly identify and resolve project issues; arrange and facilitate preconstruction and post-construction meetings and prepare and maintain meeting agendas; and maintain effective communication among project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Team Leadership & Development – Coach and mentor assigned Project Associates to ensure adherence to established project delivery processes and support their professional development; and provide direction and coordination to project personnel to promote accountability, effective execution, and achievement of project objectives.
Who We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or other related business / mathematical discipline focused degree program from a four-year college or technical school, or a comparable equivalent of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in Utility roles related to transmission or distribution projects.
• The desire to mentor less experienced Project Associates.
• PMP, FMI, or Primavera certifications.
• Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
• Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
