We have an exciting opportunity for a Directorate Lead Pharmacy Technician to join the Health in Justice service at Practice Plus Group.

You will work across the South and IRCs directorate which covers our prisons in the South of England and our Immigration Removal Centres in Heathrow, Gatwick and Derwentside.

This role is home based, with travel to sites across the directorate as required.

This is a senior leadership role supporting pharmacy services across prisons and other secure environments within the directorate. You will provide professional leadership for pharmacy teams, ensure safe and effective medicines management, drive quality improvement, and contribute to strategic service development

Salary & Hours

This position is part time working 30 hours per week.

You will receive an annual salary of £44,000 to £48,000 (£55,000 to £60,000 full time equivalent) per annum.

Main duties of the job

As the Directorate Lead Pharmacy Technician your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Provide expert advice on medicines management, medicines optimisation, and polypharmacy. Lead the delivery of safe, legal, high-quality pharmacy services across the region. Support and develop pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, promoting professional standards and leadership capability. Drive evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement. Lead clinical governance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including GPhC and CQC requirements. Review incidents, complaints, audits, and investigations to improve patient safety. Support implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). Ensure services are safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led. Work as part of the Directorate Leadership Team and contribute to service strategy. Support innovation, business development, bids, and mobilisation of new healthcare services. Build relationships with external stakeholders, commissioners, NHS England, and partner organisations. Qualifications, skills and experience required:

NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualification that enables registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Current full GPhC registration. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD). Significant experience in a senior pharmacy technician role. Experience of working across multiple sites. Experience implementing evidence-based medicines optimisation programmes. Experience working collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care. #LI-KD1
