Mountain Home Public Schools is seeking applicants for the classified position of a Paraprofessional in the Special Education Department. • Associates degree, minimum of 60 hours of college credit or successfully completed Parapro exam
• Ability to work with students with disabilities
Job Summary: A special education paraprofessional is a vital component to ensuring student's needs are being met. This position can be either an instructional paraprofessional or a one-to-one paraprofessional. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be punctual and maintain schedule as dictated by building administration, special education director, or special education teacher
• Properly and effectively notifying building principal, special education teacher, and Substitute coordinator when you are unable to be present
• Able to lift and stoop
• Enjoy working with students
• Accompany students to the general education classroom, cafeteria, playground, restroom, and or other locations on the school campus.
• Understanding regarding student behavior which requires patience-follow behavior plans
• CPR/First Aid training
• Ability to work well with others and take directions
• Accept feedback both constructive and positive
• Must perform personal care for students with needed
• Willingness to be reassigned in order to help other needs in the district
• Any other duties as assigned
