About this role
Adult Education, part-time ESOL/HSE instructor GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The duties include, but are not limited to the following Responsibilities:
• Teach assigned ESOL and/or HSE classes during the day or evening, remotely or in person.
• Plan and deliver lessons utilizing curriculum according to MA English Language Pro?ciency Standards (MA ELPS).
• Assess student progress and provide guidance and support as students develop their academic and language skills and pursue their educational and career goals.
• Complete required training in DESE-approved assessment tools.
• Collaborate with lead teachers on curriculum development and implementation
• Assist with student registration, assessment, and placement.
• Participate in scheduled staff meetings and professional development activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, goals, progress, and other required information.
• Integrate digital literacy into instruction and collaborate with community partner programs.
Required Quali?cations:
• Bachelor's degree
• At least 3 years of successful teaching experience in any
• Experience teaching adult learners, including refugees and immigrants.
• Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse adult populations.
• Knowledge of performance standards and effective instructional practices that support the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS).
• Understanding of adult second-language acquisition and literacy development.
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and technology skills.
• Proficiency in using instructional technology, including Microsoft Outlook and Google Workspace.
