MUSCATINE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS POSITION TITLE: Finance Generalist EMPLOYEE UNIT: Classified Professional Non-Exempt FUNDING SOURCE: General Operating FUNCTIONAL AREA: Finance REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Budget/Accounting Supervisor SUPERVISES: None STATUS: Contract Non-contract XX Other Full-time XX Part-time Permanent XX Temporary Hours worked per day 8.0 Days per year 261 Exempt Status: No XX Yes ___ The rate of pay will be determined on education and experience level. MAJOR DUTIES:

• Accounts receivable functions for the district.

• Assist with open enrollment, transportation, and early retiree insurance invoicing.

• Process cash receipts, manual and electronic, into finance software.

• Process returned checks as needed.

• Assist with P-Card administration

• Assist with the administration of the MySchoolBucks software.

• Assist with the Breakdown Insurance Program.

• Assist with Payroll/Benefits as needed.

• Substitutes at the Reception desk, as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: AA degree or equivalent work experience as an administrative assistant or secretary, or finance generalist. We seek proficiency in the operation of a computerized data entry system of accounting. Proficiency in the operation of database programs, spreadsheet applications, and word-processing is essential. Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers and scanners. Ability to handle various situations with staff, parents, and the general public. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication.
