About this role
To support adults with intellectual disabilities attending The Ability Hub by delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, community inclusion, and meaningful daily engagement in line with HSE standards and the ethos of The Ability Hub. Key Responsibilities • Deliver direct care and support to People We Support (PWS) in accordance with their personal support plans and The Ability Hub's care ethos. • Support individuals in personal care, therapeutic programs, social and recreational activities, and life skill development. • Encourage participation in community-based activities and promote social inclusion. • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including daily reports, incident forms, and observations. • Assist in implementing person-centred plans and review processes, ensuring each PWS voice is heard and respected. • Promote and maintain a safe, hygienic, and supportive environment in compliance with IPC policy and health and safety regulations. • Work collaboratively with the wider interdisciplinary team including social care staff, nurses, therapists, and family members. • Adhere to all policies and procedures set out by The Ability Hub and the HSE, including safeguarding, GDPR, and infection prevention and control. • Engage in ongoing professional development and mandatory training. • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and service development initiatives. Qualifications and Experience • QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support (or equivalent qualification recognised by the HSE). • Experience working with adults with ASD or intellectual disabilities is highly desirable. • Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support. • Manual handling and patient handling certification desirable (or willingness to complete). • Full clean driver’s licence (Category B) may be required for community-based support and outings.
