Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionWe are seeking dedicated General Production Workers to join our team. Depending on current needs, candidates will be placed in either the Steel Shop or the Wood Shop. The available roles include Catcher, Builder, and others, with a primary focus on builders. Responsibilities • Assemble trusses, pre-cut, and label them based on work orders. • Set up a jig and tack plates, ensuring accuracy by reading a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch. • Use tools such as a hammer and staple gun, and occasionally crawl to tack boards. • Stand completed trusses upright in the yard, possibly coordinating with forklift operators. • Collaborate with saw operators to catch and stack cut wood, checking angles with a carpenter square and labeling for storage. Essential Skills • Ability to lift 50 lbs. • Proficiency in reading a tape measure. • 6+ months of experience in labor, manufacturing, production, or construction. • Achieve an 80% score on Basic Industrial Math and Basic Ruler Reading tests. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with general labor in production, construction, and manufacturing. • Familiarity with using a forklift and various tools. Work EnvironmentThe work environment is dynamic, with the facility being hot in the summer (though doors are opened to allow a breeze) and heated in the winter. Employees must supply their own tape measure and other specified tools. Shift options vary, with specific hours detailed for each shift, and occasional Saturdays may be required during busy periods. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of CASCADE, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.64 - $21.64/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
