Aviation MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced General Machinist III to join our team. This role requires expertise in both horizontal and vertical milling centers and involves setting up and operating a variety of machines, including conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines such as mills, lathes, chuckers, and honing machines. • 1st Shift: 5AM - 3:30PM • 2nd Shift: 3:30PM - 2AM Pay: $28 - 35/hr (DOE)Responsibilities
• Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to produce metal parts. • Perform complex manual operations, including trimming parts, polishing surfaces, and bending metal parts to exact dimensions. • Interpret complicated blueprints, sketches, specifications, and GD&T. • Solve problems related to work holding arrangements, unusual materials, machine settings, tools, product specifications, and fabrication methods. • Determine sequence of operations and methods of setup. • Select, mount, and align specialized machine attachments and tooling. • Calculate and set machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth of cut. • Perform first piece OAP inspection and verify quality according to SOP. • Follow all safety regulations and handle parts and machinery with care. • Participate in cell or fabrication projects and assist with process improvements. Essential Skills
• Knowledge of elementary geometry, algebra, and trigonometric principles. • Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments, drawings, and specifications. • Capability to make minor modifications to NC/CNC equipment programs. • 3+ years of experience in a similar role. • Proficiency in setting up, tool changes, first article inspection, and program check-out. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with Haas Mills, Tsugami Horizontal Milling Centers, and FANUC Controls. • Understanding of tooling, end mills, drills, and slab mills. • Ability to read g-code and make calculations for radius changes. • Experience with CNC, vertical/horizontal mills, and Bridgeport manual mill/lathe. • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical or vocational schooling preferred. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
