The Role As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the shop. You will be part of a friendly team and will help ensure that customers receive a welcoming, efficient and professional service. Key Responsibilities - Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for every customer - Operating the checkout and handling cash and card payments accurately - Serving customers at the deli counter and preparing food to a high standard - Replenishing shelves and ensuring products are well presented - Checking stock levels and assisting with deliveries - Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the shop - Preparing and displaying fresh food and deli products - Assisting with opening and/or closing duties - Working effectively as part of a team - Following food safety, health and safety and company procedures - Carrying out other reasonable duties required to support the smooth running of the shop What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: - Friendly, approachable and customer-focused - Reliable, punctual and hardworking - Comfortable working in a busy retail environment - A good team player who is also capable of working independently - Well organised and able to use initiative - Confident communicating with customers - Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends - Interested in providing a high standard of customer service Previous retail, deli or food service experience is an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
