Fire Safety Services Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Fire Equipment Maintenance Fitter / General Operative to join our growing team in Drogheda, Co. Louth. The successful candidate will assist with the servicing, inspection and installation of fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is practical, reliable and willing to learn. Previous experience in maintenance, construction, carpentry, warehouse work or stock control is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided. The role will involve working both in our premises and at customer sites across Ireland. Key duties include: • Servicing and inspecting fire extinguishers • Inspecting hose reels and hydrants • Assisting with installation of fire safety equipment • Preparing and handling equipment and stock • Assisting qualified fire safety technicians • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment • Completing job sheets and basic documentation We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and a willingness to develop their skills within the fire safety industry. Full Job Description Key Responsibilities: Assist qualified technicians with the servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers. Inspect and assist with the maintenance of hose reels, hydrants and associated fire safety equipment. Assist with the installation and replacement of fire safety equipment at customer premises. Prepare, load and unload equipment and materials for site visits. Assist with warehouse duties, including receiving, organising and preparing stock. Maintain accurate job sheets, service records and stock records. Assist technicians with general fire safety maintenance and installation work. Follow all company health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Work professionally and courteously when attending customer sites. Complete company training and develop knowledge of fire safety equipment and procedures. Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role. Skills & Experience: Previous experience in construction, carpentry, maintenance, warehouse work, stock control or a similar practical role is desirable. Good practical and problem-solving skills. Good attention to detail. Reliable, punctual and hardworking. Good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and undertake training. No previous fire safety experience is essential as full training will be provided. Working Environment: The role will involve a combination of warehouse-based work and attending customer sites.
