Senior Scientist Group Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage GCMS laboratory operation and team.
Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaborationManage and mentor the GCMS team in accordance with the company and department vision, values and, strategic goals.Applies GMP/GLP/ISO 17025 compliance standards in all areas of responsibility, as appropriateRecognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvementsAssists in Method Development and execute method validation protocolsOversees sample preparation and analyses in support of product assessment and quality control on products utilizing GCMSPerforms all testing with good dexterity, good laboratory techniques, and a high degree of accuracy and precisionMakes recommendations for technical improvements, as neededProvides analyses support for method validation as neededEnsures that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identifies, prevents, or corrects any departures from the quality systemPerforms work for both routine and non-routine work as specified by separate and applicable technical job description for individualCoordinates workflow and performs daily monitoring to meet TATConducts semiannual performance reviews, interviews applicants, keeps training records up to date for assigned employees, performs succession planning in preparation for growthPerforms and/or assigns other duties as requested to ensure smooth operation of departmentProvides analyses support for method validation as neededAuthor and approve technical documents, standard operating procedures, protocols and reportsEvaluates, reviews, and approves data by other analystEnsures data is accurate and quality control measures are adequateAssist and/or prepare and present training programs required to satisfy regulatory requirements.Coaches, trains, and develops others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvementsTrains new analysts in laboratory techniques and proceduresWrites, edits and updates SOPs, WI and other documentationDocuments results appropriately in notebooks, LIMS, or on testing formsPossesses strong computer, scientific, quality orientation, and organizational skillsKeeps accurate records, follows instructions, and complies with company policiesAct as Subject Matter Expert during regulatory audits and inspectionsDrive a positive high quality and energy culture through inspirational leadershipProvides clear feedbackCommunicates (oral and written) effectively and shows attention to detailEnsure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in departmentFoster morale and teamwork and demonstrate role model leadershipDemonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, high energy, sound decision making, and positivity attitude. Strong understanding of analytical testing using GCMS.Strong understanding of Quality Assurance compliance under ISO 17025/GLP/cGMP quality systemsMaster’s with 7 years of GCMS experience3 years of leadership experiencePositive, high-energy, and inspirational leadership approachProject Management ExperienceStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailTobacco industry analytical testing experience
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
