Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Use International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pattern joystick controls. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Operate computer controlled equipment. Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Prepare accident reports. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Type of heavy equipment operated: Backhoe excavator, loader. Caterpillar (CAT) controls. John Deere controls. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
