Forklift Experience Required!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Pull and stage customer orders accurately according to pick tickets and shipping schedules.
• Verify item numbers, quantities, and product descriptions to ensure order accuracy.
• Package, label, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified).
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently.
• Maintain organized inventory and storage locations within the warehouse.
• Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies to supervision.
• Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform janitorial duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Adhere to hazardous materials (HazMat) handling, labeling, and storage procedures when applicable.
• Meet established productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners to track inventory and orders.
• If applicable, may use RF scanners, warehouse systems, and inventory tracking tools as assigned.
• May assist in other areas of the warehouse: Laminate, Inventory, Will Call, UPS, Shipping, Receiving, & Salt Depts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Requires the ability to follow directions while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
• Requires the ability to read and write in English and to understand numerical and alphabetical sequences.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and spend significant periods of time each day in physical labor.
• Must be certified as a forklift operator within 60 calendar days of start date.
• Requires good skills in the use of tools required to perform assigned job responsibilities.
• Distribution industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Prefer experience in operating a stock picker and/or forklift
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer a minimum of six months-related warehouse experience.
Physical Demands:
This work requires frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally move heavier materials with assistance or material-handling equipment. Finger dexterity for activities such as data entry and calculator use, grasping, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between locations. Use of both hands is required. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as required.
Ability to work at varying heights and access storage locations safely. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. This is a safety sensitive position.
