Join an expanding research environment at Aalborg University Business School at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, where curiosity, collaboration, and strong academic ambitions shape our work. We are seeking one or more dedicated scholars to help advance accounting research within the Accounting Research Group at Aalborg University Business School. The position is a permanent full time position starting on February 1 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Your work tasks The successful candidate is expected to be committed to research, teaching and supervision, including teaching within AAU's Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to contribute to the continued development of accounting education and innovative teaching practices at AAUBS. As an associate professor in accounting, you will conduct independent research and aim for publication in leading international journals. You will be involved in developing and delivering teaching at both bachelor and master levels, and on HD and MBA programs, including a broad array of topics within accounting. The position includes supervision of project groups and individual students, participation in research collaborations within the group, and active engagement in the academic community at the business school. You will be expected to supervise PhD students. You will further contribute to the development of new research ideas and apply for external funding. You will be expected to be present at the business school at least three days again and preferably more to help create a stimulating environment for students and researchers. Your competencies We are looking for one or more colleagues with a strong interest in research and a clear ambition to contribute to international academic debates through rigorous work. Ability to teach in Danish is an advantage. Qualification requirements Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at the level that can be achieved through the satisfactory completion of a period of employment as an assistant professor but may also be obtained in other ways. It is a precondition that applicants have documented research at an international standard. In addition, applicants are assumed to have received supervision and pedagogical skills development and to have obtained a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications. Who we are The Accounting research group is based at Aalborg University Business School and has a strong interest in how firms do accounting, and accounting broadly speaking. The group works with contemporary topics in leadership and a broad array of topics within managerial/financial accounting.
