Job Title: Industrial CoaterJob DescriptionThis role focuses on applying protective and functional coatingssuch as paint, powder coatings, and epoxiesto industrial structures and manufactured components. You prepare surfaces, operate coating equipment, monitor coating thickness and consistency, and ensure that all finished work meets strict safety, quality, and durability standards. You contribute directly to the integrity and longevity of industrial assets in a demanding jobsite environment. Responsibilities • Prepare a variety of surfaces for coating application, including cleaning, masking, and performing necessary surface prep to ensure proper adhesion. • Apply industrial paints, epoxies, powder coatings, and other protective finishes to manufactured goods and industrial structures using appropriate tools and techniques. • Operate coating and application equipment, including spray guns and related machinery, in a safe and efficient manner. • Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and consistency throughout the application process to meet project specifications and quality standards. • Inspect completed work for quality, durability, and adherence to safety and project requirements, making adjustments or touch-ups as needed. • Follow all jobsite safety procedures, guidelines, and project-specific requirements while working in an industrial environment. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage and handling of materials and equipment. • Coordinate with project teams and supervisors to understand job requirements, timelines, and quality expectations. • Comply with site badging requirements, including background checks and drug screening, as part of access to industrial facilities. • Participate in the hiring and onboarding process, including phone interviews and completion of necessary documentation. Essential Skills • Previous industrial coating or closely related experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to apply protective finishes in industrial or commercial settings. • Proficiency in applying industrial paints, epoxies, powder coatings, and other protective coatings to a variety of surfaces. • Ability to operate coating equipment and spray guns safely and effectively. • Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques, including cleaning, masking, and other prep work required for high-quality coatings. • Ability to work safely in an industrial or jobsite environment, following established safety procedures and guidelines. • Capability to monitor coating thickness, coverage, and consistency to meet specified standards. • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to and from the jobsite. • Ability to successfully complete a 7-panel drug screen as part of site access requirements. • Ability to successfully complete a 7-year federal background check for site badging. • Willingness and ability to comply with all site badging and security requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • OSHA 10 certification is a plus and demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety. • Experience in industrial or commercial painting environments is highly beneficial. • Familiarity with construction jobsite practices and coordination with other trades. • Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and durability of finished products. • Ability to read and follow project instructions and coating specifications. • Strong work ethic and ability to perform physical tasks associated with industrial coating work. • Comfort working with various coating materials, including paints, powder coatings, and epoxies. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an industrial facility environment, specifically supporting work at a water reclamation plant and similar jobsite settings. You work around industrial structures and manufactured components, using spray guns and other coating equipment to apply paints, powder coatings, and epoxies. The role involves standing for extended periods, performing physical tasks, and working in areas where safety procedures and site rules are strictly enforced. You follow industrial safety standards, including those related to equipment operation and material handling. Access to the site requires successful completion of a 7-panel drug screen and a 7-year federal background check for badging. Work hours follow standard jobsite schedules, and attire should be appropriate for an industrial environment, with practical work clothing and any required personal protective equipment provided or specified according to site safety guidelines. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
