Job Title: Part-Time Industrial CleanerJob DescriptionThis part-time industrial cleaner role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within an industrial and commercial construction space in its final stages of completion. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing, while following direction from on-site supervisors and working in a quiet, organized atmosphere. Responsibilities • Sweep floors throughout the industrial and commercial construction space to remove dust, debris, and scuff marks. • Dust surfaces, including window sills, ledges, and other fixtures, to maintain a clean and presentable environment. • Mop floors regularly to ensure they are clean, safe, and free of spills or residue. • Buff or remove scuff marks from flooring to keep surfaces looking neat and well-maintained. • Wipe down countertops, work surfaces, and other high-contact areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. • Clean glass windows and other glass surfaces around the site to ensure visibility and a professional appearance. • Perform general cleaning and sanitizing duties as needed to support a clean and safe worksite. • Follow direction and instructions from on-site Superintendents and assistant supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet cleaning standards. • Work independently to manage your cleaning responsibilities and complete tasks within assigned timeframes. • Adhere to site safety guidelines and maintain a tidy workspace while operating in an industrial construction environment. Essential Skills • Proven general cleaning experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. • Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general sanitizing tasks efficiently and thoroughly. • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. • Reliability and availability to work a part-time schedule as assigned. • Comfort working in an industrial and commercial construction environment. • Strong attention to detail when cleaning floors, glass, countertops, and window sills. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as an industrial cleaner or general laborer in construction or commercial facilities is an asset. • Familiarity with basic cleaning tools, supplies, and techniques used in industrial and commercial spaces. • Ability to follow instructions from site leadership and adapt to changing priorities. • Strong time management skills to complete cleaning tasks within scheduled shifts. The schedule is part-time with options for a 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift three days every three weeks or a 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. shift four days every three weeks. The site offers easy parking and a calm environment, enabling you to focus on maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the facility. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Burnaby, BC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
