Job Title: Production AssociateJob DescriptionThe Production Associate operates food processing and packaging equipment in a regulated food manufacturing facility, ensuring products are cleaned, roasted, pasteurized, seasoned, packaged, and labeled safely and efficiently. This role follows strict GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety procedures, monitors product quality throughout the production process, and maintains accurate production and quality documentation. The Production Associate supports overall product integrity, sanitation, and operational efficiency on the production floor while working collaboratively with the team to meet production goals and schedules.Responsibilities
• Operate food processing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently in a nut and dried fruit production environment. • Perform production tasks related to cleaning, roasting, pasteurizing, seasoning, packaging, and labeling of nuts and dried fruits. • Follow all GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times. • Monitor product quality throughout the production process and ensure products meet company standards. • Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment according to established procedures. • Complete production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain food-safe work areas and equipment. • Identify and promptly report equipment issues, product defects, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. • Work collaboratively with team members and the Line Supervisor to meet daily production goals and schedules. • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. • Support the maintenance of product integrity, sanitation, and operational efficiency on the production floor. • Handle food allergens, including tree nuts and peanuts, in accordance with safety and quality guidelines. • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production, cleaning, and equipment operation. Essential Skills
• Experience in food processing, food manufacturing, or food handling in a highly regulated environment. • Ability to operate production machinery and packaging equipment safely and efficiently. • Strong awareness of and adherence to GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards. • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with daily performance targets. • Ability to monitor product quality and perform basic quality control checks. • Capability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately. • Attention to detail when completing production and quality documentation. • Ability to identify and report equipment issues, product defects, and safety concerns promptly. • Dependable work habits and strong focus on safety. • Willingness and ability to perform cleaning, sanitation, and janitorial tasks as part of production duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Prior experience in machine operation or general manufacturing. • Background in food production, foodservice, or food preparation. • Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing or food environment. • Familiarity with sanitizing procedures and maintaining clean, organized work areas. • Comfort working with food allergens, including tree nuts and peanuts. • Ability to work day shift hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. • Willingness to wear required protective clothing such as smocks, hair nets, and steel-toe shoes. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
