Job Title: A&P Mechanic - Corporate Aircraft Job DescriptionA&P Mechanics performs maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on a variety of corporate aircraft in strict compliance with manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations. This role focuses on returning aircraft to service in an airworthy condition, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting flight schedules through timely, high-quality work in a professional hangar environment.Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of corporate aircraft in accordance with specific manufacturer guidelines and FAA regulations. • Troubleshoot malfunctions on basic aircraft systems and identify root causes of mechanical and technical issues. • Repair aircraft components and systems, ensuring all work meets regulatory standards and returns aircraft to service in an airworthy condition. • Communicate regularly with the crew leader to provide updates on job progression and discuss work priorities. • Coordinate with the crew leader as needed to expedite troubleshooting and obtain technical information related to the aircraft. • Complete sign-out forms accurately when taking parts from stock to maintain proper inventory control. • Prepare and maintain documentation, repair records, maintenance logs, and other required paperwork in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. • Return tools and equipment to their proper storage locations after use and ensure they are maintained in good working condition. • Clean and maintain the work area in an acceptable, safe condition that reflects a professional image. • Perform specific assigned shop duties to support overall hangar operations and team efficiency. • Complete and sign off aircraft preparation forms when authorized and qualified to do so. • Maintain work schedules for assigned aircraft to support and align with customers flight schedules. • Ensure the timely and efficient completion of all assigned work, meeting quality and safety standards. • Document and complete discrepancy items for work that is not yet finished, ensuring clear communication for follow-up tasks. • Maintain a personal file of technical information, manuals, and resources required to work effectively on assigned aircraft. • Prepare kits and installations for aircraft modifications or upgrades as directed. • Secure aircraft at the end of each shift by installing cowlings and confirming that all aircraft doors are locked. • Use appropriate tools, tool boxes, ground support equipment, and related resources safely and effectively during maintenance activities. • Collaborate with team members in scheduled maintenance, annual inspections, and corporate maintenance tasks across various aircraft types. Required Skills & Qualifications
• Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 3 of those years on corporate jets such as Gulfstream, Challenger, Global, Falcon, Learjet, Citation, Pilatus (PC-12/PC-24), or HondaJet; • Demonstrated experience performing scheduled maintenance and annual inspections on corporate aircraft. • Strong troubleshooting skills on basic aircraft systems and mechanical components. • Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation. • Hands-on experience with corporate aircraft maintenance operations. • Proficiency using standard aircraft maintenance tools, personal tool boxes, and ground support equipment. • Working knowledge of sheet metal repair techniques and practices. • Familiarity with avionics systems sufficient to support maintenance and repair tasks. • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate repair, maintenance, and regulatory documentation. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. • Effective communication skills to coordinate with crew leaders and team members. Technicians work directly on corporate aircraft using a variety of tools, personal tool boxes, and ground support equipment, as well as engaging with sheet metal and avionics-related tasks. The setting emphasizes safety, professionalism, and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace. Work is performed indoors in a structured maintenance facility, with a focus on meeting customer flight schedules and supporting a team-oriented operation. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
