Job Title: Aircraft TechnicianJob DescriptionAs an Aircraft Technician, you provide hands-on technical and operational support to production cells, focusing on the disassembly, cleaning, painting, testing, and safety wiring of aviation components to ensure they meet quality, reliability, and safety standards. Responsibilities • Provide technical and operational support to production cells to keep aviation component workflows running efficiently. • Perform detailed disassembly of aviation components, following established procedures and safety guidelines. • Clean aviation parts and assemblies using appropriate methods to prepare them for inspection, repair, or reassembly. • Paint aviation components in accordance with specifications and quality standards. • Conduct testing of aviation components using measuring gauges and test equipment to verify performance and compliance. • Perform safety wiring on aviation components to ensure secure installation and adherence to safety requirements. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to guide assembly, disassembly, and repair activities. • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on components down to the individual part level. • Use electronic business systems, including Microsoft Office and internal business management tools such as Quantum, to document work, track components, and support shop operations. • Collaborate with other technicians and production staff to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shop environment. • Follow all repair station procedures and regulatory guidelines associated with an MRO environment. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical components in a hands-on environment. • Minimum of 2 years of assembly experience, preferably with complex mechanical or aviation-related systems. • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work confidently on mechanical assemblies and components. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. • Experience with electrical troubleshooting on components and systems. • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting to identify and resolve component-level issues. • Strong troubleshooting skills down to component level using measuring gauges and test equipment. • Knowledge of electronic business systems, including Microsoft Office. • Ability to use internal business management systems such as Quantum or similar tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) or repair station environment. • Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems on aviation components. • Attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and safety standards. • Ability to work effectively on a first-shift schedule in a production-oriented setting. • Interest in taking on leadership responsibilities, such as serving as a section lead. Work EnvironmentYou work in a shop environment within an MRO repair station that is fully climate controlled, providing a comfortable setting throughout the year. The team consists of approximately 25 employees, all on first shift, fostering strong collaboration and communication. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with shift options of 5:00 a.m.1:30 p.m., 6:00 a.m.2:30 p.m., or 7:00 a.m.3:30 p.m. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and a work shirt, reflecting the hands-on, technical nature of the role and the emphasis on safety. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
