Job Title: Fence InstallerJob DescriptionThis seasonal Fence Installer role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects, assisting with the installation of wood and chain link fencing in outdoor environments. You will work in small teams under the guidance of a foreman, performing hands-on construction tasks, preparing materials, and ensuring high-quality fence installations through the season, with work expected to continue until December.Responsibilities
• Install residential wood fences and commercial chain link fences according to client designs and project specifications. • Assist the foreman with all aspects of fence installation and repair, including layout, post setting, and panel installation. • Use hand tools such as post hole diggers, shovels, clamshell diggers, tile spades, and digging bars to dig holes for fence posts. • Prepare, stage, and load materials, hardware, and appropriate tools onto trucks prior to departing for job sites. • Support installations by performing construction-related tasks such as measuring, cutting, nailing, and setting concrete. • Conduct basic quality checks on installed fencing and help monitor job progression to ensure work meets standards. • Perform manual labor that may include lifting up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 70 lbs, throughout the workday. • Work outdoors in residential neighborhoods and commercial construction sites in a variety of weather conditions. • Maintain a clean and organized work area on job sites and assist with cleanup after installations are complete. • Follow safety procedures and use tools and equipment properly to reduce risk of injury and damage. Essential Skills
• 12 seasons of experience in fencing, construction, or similar outdoor manual labor roles. • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and environments. • Capability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding manual labor throughout the day. • Experience using a tape measure for accurate measuring and layout. • Ability to safely operate common power tools used in construction and fence installation. • General labor experience, including digging holes and mixing concrete. • Basic construction skills such as measuring, cutting, and nailing materials. • Strong reliability and willingness to work as part of a small team under a foremans direction. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Past history in concrete work, underground construction, or carpentry, as these skills translate well to fence installation. • Experience in landscaping or similar outdoor work environments. • Comfort working on both residential properties and commercial construction sites. • Ability to travel as needed for projects that require overnight stays. The environment is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting, digging, and use of hand and power tools, and you will spend most of your time on-site rather than in an office or warehouse. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
