Job Title: Finish Racking Foreman Utility-Scale SolarWeekly Pay + Per Diem (if eligible) Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am-5:30pm, Saturday 7am-3:30pm Job DescriptionThe Finish Racking Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation of utility-scale solar tracker and racking systems. This role oversees daily crew activities, ensures all installation work is performed safely and in accordance with project specifications, and drives productivity to meet aggressive project schedules and quality standards. The foreman serves as the primary field leader for rough and finish racking crews and collaborates closely with Superintendents, Safety, QA/QC, and other construction teams to deliver high-quality solar installations.Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of solar tracker and racking installation crews on utility-scale solar projects. • Lead and manage crews of approximately 2050 workers, ensuring clear communication of tasks, goals, and safety expectations. • Review and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to plan racking and tracker installation work and verify alignment with project specifications. • Oversee the installation of mechanical racking components, including proper torqueing and assembly, to meet quality and performance standards. • Ensure all work is completed safely, enforcing site safety protocols and promoting a strong safety culture among crew members. • Monitor daily production goals and drive crew productivity to meet or exceed project schedule requirements in a fast-paced environment. • Inspect completed work to confirm quality, adherence to drawings, and compliance with QA/QC requirements for tracker installation. • Coordinate with Superintendents, Safety personnel, QA/QC teams, and other construction disciplines to resolve field issues and maintain workflow. • Identify and address installation challenges in the field, providing guidance and direction to crews to keep work on track. • Maintain accurate communication about progress, issues, and needs related to racking and tracker installation activities. Essential Skills
• 35+ years of experience in utility-scale solar construction, specifically involving solar tracker and racking installation. • Previous lead or crew-lead experience supervising field installation teams. • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate 2050 workers in a construction environment. • Strong productivity history with proven ability to meet daily production goals in a fast-paced setting. • Excellent safety record with consistent adherence to and enforcement of safety policies and procedures. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents related to solar tracker and racking systems. • Hands-on experience with mechanical installation work, including racking assembly and torqueing of mechanical components. • Experience in construction and solar installation environments, particularly utility-scale projects. • Ability to manage tracker installation quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards. You will work in varying and sometimes extreme temperature conditions and must be comfortable handling weather-related challenges throughout the day. The pace of work is fast, with daily production goals that require sustained focus and energy. Site grounds are very uneven, so you must be comfortable walking and working on irregular terrain for the entirety of the shift. Work involves hands-on use of construction tools and equipment related to solar tracker and racking installation, with a strong emphasis on safety practices at all times. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
