Job Title: PRIMA/SNB Sheet Metal OperatorJob DescriptionThe PRIMA/SNB Operator sets up, operates, and maintains sheetmetal fabrication equipment, including shearing, notching, and bending machines, to produce highprecision components for heating and cooling systems. This role requires accurately reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, verifying that parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards, performing routine inspections, and consistently following workplace safety policies and procedures in a largescale manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and monitor sheetmetal fabrication equipment such as shears, press brakes, notching, and bending machines to produce components for heating and cooling systems. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and detailed work instructions to ensure parts meet specified dimensions and tolerances. • Measure and verify completed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and overall conformance to production and quality standards. • Perform routine inspections of equipment and work area to identify issues, maintain proper machine functionality, and support preventive maintenance efforts. • Follow established production processes and work instructions to meet output targets while maintaining high quality and consistency. • Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures, including safe machine operation and proper handling of sheet metal and other materials. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate production status, report issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. • Participate in orientation, onthejob evaluation, and training, and successfully complete required assessments for ongoing employment. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a brandnew, large manufacturing facility. • Support crosstraining efforts by learning additional machines or processes as needed to enhance flexibility and productivity. Essential Skills • Proven experience operating sheetmetal fabrication equipment, including shears, press brakes, and related machinery in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions with strong attention to dimensional accuracy and tolerances. • Handson experience working with metal in a production or largescale manufacturing setting. • Solid machine operation and machineoperating skills with a focus on safety and quality. • Reliable transportation to consistently attend orientation and thirdshift work schedules. • Good communication skills to follow instructions, coordinate with team members, and report production or quality issues. • Comfort working on a thirdshift schedule from 9:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in largescale manufacturing environments with structured production processes. • Willingness to participate in a fourday orientation program, including three days in the classroom and a fourth day of onthejob evaluation and training. • Ability to successfully pass an onthejob evaluation as part of the orientation process. • Interest in crosstraining on additional equipment or processes to expand skills and support career growth. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a brandnew, clean sheetmetal manufacturing facility that operates on a thirdshift schedule from 9:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. New hires complete a fourday orientation, with three days in the classroom and a fourth day dedicated to onthejob evaluation and training, offered on morning (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or afternoon (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) schedules. The facility is large, well organized, and focused on highprecision production using modern sheetmetal fabrication equipment. The workday includes two paid 15minute shuttle periods, one paid 15minute rest break, and one unpaid 30minute meal break while maintaining eight hours of paid work per shift. Employees have access to a nice lunch room and work in a shop designed to be clean, efficient, and conducive to safe and productive manufacturing operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.13 - $29.13/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
