Job Title: Electrical AssemblerJob DescriptionThe Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling electrical systems and components in accordance with engineering schematics and product specifications. In this role, you will build heavy electrical subassemblies, install control devices, perform wiring of circuits, outlets, and switches, and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet precise tolerances. You will use hand and power tools, follow detailed electrical drawings, and operate material handling equipment while working both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities • Assemble electrical systems, components, and control devices to heavy subassembly units based on electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams. • Perform wiring of circuits, outlets, switches, and other electrical connections in accordance with specifications and safety standards. • Fit, test, and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet product tolerances and performance requirements. • Interpret and follow engineering schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to complete assemblies accurately. • Perform wire termination tasks, including cutting, stripping, crimping, and connecting wires for control panels and other assemblies. • Install electrical components, conduit, and control panels as required for each project. • Operate basic hand and power tools such as drills, impact tools, grinders, and measuring tools safely and effectively from day one. • Use material handling devices and lifts, including pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and mobile floor cranes, to move and position parts and assemblies. • Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working around loud noise, moving machinery, and other production hazards. • Collaborate with other assemblers and production staff when working in group settings, and manage tasks independently when working alone. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and equipment after use. Essential Skills • 25 years of electrical assembly experience. • 25 years of wire termination experience. • 25 years of control panel experience. • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics. • Proficiency in wire termination, including cutting, stripping, crimping, and connecting wires. • Experience in bending conduit for electrical installations. • Ability to perform electrical installation tasks in a production environment. • Skilled in operating measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools such as drills, impacts, and grinders. • Ability to fit, test, and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet product tolerances and specifications. • Capability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and mobile floor cranes. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols at all times. • Ability to lift and move objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds frequently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment. • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team of assemblers. • Solid problem-solving skills to identify and correct assembly or wiring issues. • Good communication skills to coordinate tasks and share information with coworkers. • Reliability in adhering to shift schedules and meeting production timelines. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a production environment with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and other typical industrial hazards. Safety protocols must be followed at all times. You will frequently lift and move objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds and use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and mobile floor cranes. The facility operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Basic tools such as drills, impact tools, and grinders are provided on site, and you are expected to be able to operate them effectively from your first day. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $28.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
