Job Title: Electrical Helper (Day Shift)Job DescriptionThis role supports the production of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. As an Electrical Helper, you assist with electrical assembly and wiring of panel boxes and switchgear, working on both low-voltage and medium-voltage equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Assist with electrical assembly and wiring of panel boxes and switchgear for low-voltage and medium-voltage systems. • Connect cables, crimp wires, and perform mechanical assembly tasks to build complete electrical units. • Use personal hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and wiring operations. • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and one-line and three-line drawings to complete work accurately. • Perform panel building, panel wiring, and electrical wiring according to schematics and engineering specifications. • Support assembly of electrical panels, power centers, Power Control Rooms (PCR), and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and tools. • Work extended hours, typically 11 hours per day, 56 days per week, to meet production schedules in a busy shop. • Collaborate with team members on the production floor and demonstrate initiative in taking on tasks and solving problems. • Contribute to a high-volume, fast-paced production environment by meeting quality standards and deadlines. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of electrical experience in an industrial setting. • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and one-line and three-line drawings. • Hands-on experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems. • Proficiency in electrical assembly and wiring of panels, panel boxes, and switchgear. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools for electrical and mechanical assembly work. • Capacity to work long hours and maintain productivity in a fast-paced production environment. • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish. • Demonstrated initiative and leadership potential in a shop or production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with electrical assembly of panels or power centers. • Familiarity with Power Control Rooms (PCR) and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). • Ability to work every day of the week when required to support production demands. • Comfort working in a large, busy manufacturing facility with multiple shops and disciplines. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following electrical schematics and safety standards. • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of electrical assemblers, warehouse staff, and production personnel. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large, approximately 600,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Pasadena, Texas. The environment is very clean and organized, with open bay doors and numerous fans in a nonclimate-controlled production shop. The building primarily houses electrical assemblers, warehouse operations, and production activities, while other nearby facilities support welding, machining, and powder coating. The shop is fast paced and very busy, with day shift hours typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., working about 11 hours per day, 56 days per week. Night shift operations follow a similar schedule and may open additional opportunities. Required attire includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses, reflecting a safety-focused, hands-on industrial work environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
