Job Title: Second Ops TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Second Ops Technician performs tooling and equipment set-ups to support secondary operations, including installing injection molds and preparing machines to produce quality parts. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, monitoring product quality and process productivity, and supporting maintenance and engineering activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities
• Perform tooling set-ups, including tool installation and machine preparation, to support secondary operations activities. • Install injection molds and complete equipment set-up processes, ensuring machines are producing good parts that meet quality standards. • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed, including replacing cutting tools, adjusting machine settings, and supporting automation systems. • Conduct equipment set-ups as directed to support production schedules and operational requirements. • Support maintenance systems by performing maintenance-related activities as needed to keep equipment running reliably. • Collaborate with maintenance and process engineering teams to troubleshoot and repair system failures and resolve production issues. • Collect and enter data to support procedures, engineering tests, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Interact with employees in a positive and professional manner to support a collaborative work environment. • Train employees on the safe and effective use of technical equipment such as automation systems, CNC machines, and other production machinery. • Perform other related duties as required to support production, quality, and safety goals. Essential Skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting skills. • Ability to perform machine and tooling set-ups, including injection molding equipment. • Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools, including wrenches and other common tools. • Basic to moderate computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and data entry. • Ability to read and understand basic technical information such as blueprints or work instructions. • Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, machine set-up, or production environments. • Ability to recognize and address equipment and process issues to maintain product quality and productivity. • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy production setting. • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment. • Good communication skills with the ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English. • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, and to follow established safety practices. • Physical ability to regularly stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see, and to frequently stand and walk while performing job duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED preferred. • Experience with injection molding processes or injection metal molding environments. • Experience in automotive mechanics or automotive technician work, including tasks such as oil changes and general mechanical repair, is beneficial. • Familiarity with CNC equipment and automation systems is a plus. • Ability to work varying work schedules during training. • Comfort working with tool boxes, power tools, and production machinery in a manufacturing environment. The position involves regular standing, walking, and manual work with tools and machinery. Work schedules may vary during training, and the role operates within a structured, safety-conscious, and highly technical production setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
