Job Title: Night Shift Welder/FitterJob DescriptionThis role focuses on structural welding and fitting on very large materials used to manufacture poles for street lighting and traffic control. You will work in a heavy manufacturing environment, performing high-quality welds and precise fitting on large structures, and must successfully complete both weld and fitting tests prior to starting. Responsibilities • Perform structural welding and fitting on large materials used to manufacture poles for street lighting and traffic control. • Work with very large structural components, ensuring accurate fit-up and alignment before welding. • Use metalcore and flux core welding processes to complete high-quality welds on heavy industrial structures. • Pass a weld test on a 1/2 inch flat plate in the 1G position using 1/16th metalcore wire with a bevel bar. • Pass a fitting test demonstrating the ability to properly fit and assemble large structural components. • Read and interpret blueprints to determine welding, fitting, and assembly requirements. • Operate safely in a heavy manufacturing environment, following all safety rules and procedures. • Wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, weld hood, and steel-toe footwear at all times. • Work scheduled shifts reliably, including night shift hours and potential overtime on Fridays and some Saturdays. • Maintain above-average attendance and tenure, demonstrating reliability and commitment to the role. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of heavy industrial welding and fitting experience on large structures. • Strong structural welder/fitter skills in a heavy manufacturing environment. • Proficiency with metalcore and flux core welding processes. • Ability to pass a weld test on a 1/2 inch flat plate in the 1G position using 1/16th metalcore wire with a bevel bar. • Ability to pass a fitting test on structural components. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. • Experience working with very large materials and structures. • Commitment to wearing required PPE, including hard hat, weld hood, and steel-toe footwear. • Capability to work night shifts and meet the physical demands of heavy manufacturing work. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in heavy manufacturing environments. • Demonstrated above-average tenure in previous welding and fitting roles. • Comfort working overtime when needed, including most Fridays and some Saturdays. • Ability to adapt to training on day shift before transitioning to night shift. Work EnvironmentThis is a heavy manufacturing environment focused on producing very large structural poles for street lighting and traffic control. Initial training takes place on day shift for two weeks, Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no exceptions. After training, the standard night shift runs from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with overtime commonly available on Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays. You must wear a hard hat at all times on the floor; the hard hat is provided, but you must bring your own weld hood and steel-toe boots. The work involves handling large materials, operating welding equipment, and following strict safety protocols in a busy industrial setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.50 - $28.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
